WARLEY WHITES U14s
3 vs DALTON DYNAMOES 3
WHITE`S LATE GOAL
SAVES WHITES
After winning promotion in their first
season in the R.C.D. Huddersfield junior football league.
Whites kicked off there season in division one with an
exciting 3-3 home draw against Dalton Dynamoes.
It was a game Whites nearly lost but
should have won. The game started with Whites applying the
early pressure, Ethan Noble getting down the right wing on a
number of ocassions to create chances for Whites forward James
Kelly, of which he turned his defender to steer the ball past
the Dalton keeper to put the Whites 1-0 up. With Jason White
bossing the midfield for the Whites and the defence looking
solid against the Dalton front three things looked good, but a
miniute before the interval Dalton were on level terms, a
cross from the right into the Whites penalty area caused
problems and from the collision between keeper Josh Berry and
full-back Ashley Drake the ball ran to Thomas O`Hara who poked
the ball home from two yards to make the half-time score 1-1.
After five mins of the second half Dalton went in front, a
ball behind the Whites defence seemed harmless but as keeper
Josh Berry came to collect the ball it slid under his body and
the alert Thomas O`Hara made it 2-1 to Dalton.
Dalton had a good five miniute spell now
and went futher ahead when Ryan Hall broke down the wing and
beat the keeper at his near post to make it 3-1 to the
visitors. Whites had it all to do now, the good thing there
were still twenty miniutes to go, it was all Whites now
attacking the Dalton goal, but they were been frustrated by a
good defence applying the offside trap. 10 mins to go Whites
had a corner it got cleared only as far Kai Hadley who
volleyed the ball into the roof of the net to reduce the to
2-3.
The chances were coming thick and fast
now for the Whites, but time was slowly running out, then in
the last miniute a ball over the top of the Dalton defence
from Sam Hiley found Jason White who smashed the ball past the
advancing keeper to make the final score 3-3. Outstanding for
the Whites was Jason White also impressive were Ethan Noble
and Conner Ashworth, a mention must go to Dalton Dynamoes who
played a hard working game and caused Warley Whites problems
at times and also their
supporters were a credit to there team.

LEPTON HIGHLANDERS U14s 2 vs WARLEY WHITES U14s 1
UNLUCKY O.G.DENIES WHITES A POINT
Warley Whites U14s suffered their first defeat of the
season, when
they lost away to Lepton Highlanders U14s 1-2 inthe R.C.D.
Huddersfield
Junior League. Whites travelled to Lepton with a squad of
twelve
players, Sam Hiley has left the club and Kai Hadley was out
injured.
Whites started the game with the wind in their faces, and
with Lepton
having most of the poscesion of the ball, they were putting
the Whites
defence under a lot of pressure. Lepton went in front on
twenty
miniutes, a shot from the edge of the area gave the Whites
keeper no
chance, that was the only surprise of the first half, that
Lepton did
not add to the one goal they had scored.
With the wind
behind the
Whites after the interval the pattern of the game started to
change,
Whites had more of the ball and started to attack the Lepton
goal more, after twenty five minutes they were level, a long kick from
keeper
Josh Berry found Jason White, who in one movement lobbed the
Lepton
keeper to make it 1-1. but then straight from the kick off
Lepton went
down field and put a cross into the Whites penalty area,
where the
unlucky Conner Ashworth got his head to the ball but could
only divert
it past the Whites keeper to put Lepton back in front.
Whites pressed
to the end of the game but could not break the Lepton
defence down,
with the final score staying in Leptons favour 1-2.
Impressive for the
Whites were Joe Fraser, Conner Ashworth, Brandon Gilling and
Ethan Noble

WHITES GAIN FIRST WIN WITH ALL ROUND
DISPLAY
Warley Whites U14s gained their first win
of the season in the first division of the R.C.D. Huddersfield
junior football league against Elland Athletic U14s by a score
line of 3-0, this was a much improved performance on the
previous games Whites have played this season.
The differance was confidence and
attitude was high, and they supported each other through out
the game and played as a team. Straight from the kick off
Whites attacked with some good flowing football down both
wings, but to be fair, Elland looked solid in midfield and
defence with Tom Chapel impressive at the back and Robbie
Barrett doing a good job in midfield, with both keepers hardly
touching the ball, it was no surprise both teams went in at
the interval with the score at 0-0. Whites started the second
half as they did the first, and within five miniutes they
scored, forward James Kelly received the ball in the Elland
half played a quick ball into the path of Jason White whose
through ball found Thomas Robinson and he hit an unstoppable
shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-0 to the
Whites.
Ten miniutes later Whites were two up,
again midfielder Jason White picked out winger Ethan Noble
with a beautiful ball who then drew the keeper and slid the
ball under him to make it 2-0 to the Whites. Whites were on
top now creating numurous chances and with the full time
whistle approaching, Arley Byrne received the ball from
Brandon Gilling and fed Jason White who burst through into the
area only to be brought down for a penalty, he picked himself
up to convert the spot kick to make the final score 3-0 to the
Whites. Credit must go to Elland who never stopped battling,
and for the Whites, every player was impressive in what was a
very good team performance.

WHITES U14s 6
JASON WHITE HITS LEEDS MACCABI FOR SIX
Warley Whites U14s travelled to play
Leeds Maccabi U14s in the first round of the West Riding
County Junior Trophy and came away with a comprehensive 6-0
win, midfielder Jason White hitting all six goals. Whites had
just eleven players for this match, it would have been ten,
had it not been for full back Joe Fraser
who had set off from Henley on Thames at 06-00 that morning to
make the 10-30 k.o. This was another good all round team
performance from the Whites in what was a one sided game,
keeper Josh Berry a virtual spectator for most of the game.
The game started brightly for the Whites
with Conner Ashworth and Brandon Gilling solid at the back,
Kai Hadley and Jason White pulling the strings in midfield, up
front Matthew Wilson, James Kelly and Ethan Noble all had very
good chances to put the Whites in front. After 15 mins a good
move involving Matthew Wilson and Arley Byrne, who found Jason
White and he gave the keeper no chance with a fine shot, five
mins later from a Matthew Wilson corner Jason White made the
score 2-0 with a fine header into the top corner of the net.
It was all Whites now , good passing movements creating more
chances for Ethan Noble and
Ashley Drake, Jason White completed his
hat-trick on the stroke of half time with another fine shot to
make it 3-0 to the Whites.
After the interval Jason White made the
score 4-0 with a tap in, then came the best goal of the game,
a move that involved full back Joe Fraser, Kai Hadley and
Arley Byrne who in turn found that man again Jason White who
made it 5-0 to the Whites, near the end a good, run by Ethan
Noble whose shot came back off the crossbar and Jason White
fired home the rebound to make the final score 6-0.
A mention must go to the Leeds Maccabi
team who never gave up, it was a strange match for Ethan Noble
who ran his socks off, he had twice as many chances as Jason
White, he hit the woodwork twice or his shots were brillantly
saved by the keeper or just flew by the post [the captains
armband must have affected his shooting]. Jason White must get
a mention, six goals in any match is a feat. But this was
another good all round team effort in which every player
deserves praise.

THIRD WIN ON
THE BOUNCE FOR WHITES
Warley Whites U14s entertained Hepworth United U14s at home
last
Sunday in a Division One match of the R.C.D. Huddersfield
Junior
League. This was a vital game for both sides who are near the
foot of
the table. Whites keeper Josh Berry was unavailable so
Thomas Robinson
went in goal. Also back into defence was Matthew
Scholefield. The game
started with Whites on top, so it came as a surprise against
the run of
play when Hepworth went in front. After a good save from
Thomas Robinson the
ball landed at the feet of a Hepworth player who was on the
edge of
the Whites area, he hit the ball back first time into the
corner of the
net to put Hepworth 0-1 up. Hepworth had a good ten miniute
spell
from then on, keeper Thomas
Robinson making some good saves. Then on
twenty miniutes Whites broke up field andfrom a James Kelly
shot the keeper
could only parry the ball out to Matthew Wilson who
crossed the ball back
into the box, and there was Arley Byrne on hand to
score his first
goal of the season with a left foot shot to make the score
1-1.Then just
before half time Ethan Noble got a shot on goal but it
took a
deflection and rolled under the keeper's body into the net to
send
the Whites in at half time 2-1 up. The second half was mostly
one way
traffic for the Whites, the Hepworth keeper pulling off some
fine saves
from Jason White. Fifteen minuites from time Jason
White received
the ball with his back to goal, turned on a sixpence and hit a
half
volley into the net to make the final score 3-1 to the Whites.
Impressive for the Whites were keeper Thomas Robinson,
Ashley Drake,
Matthew Scholefield, James Kelly and Arley Byrne.

SOLID AWAY PERFORMANCE EARNS
THREE POINTS FOR WHITES
Warley Whites U14s made the trip to Yorkshire Lions U14s in
the first
division of the R.C.D. Huddersfield junior league and came
away with a
6-3 victory, this was another good all round performance from
the
Whites, the win makes it four unbeaten after their slow start
to the
season. Whites started the game strongly and after 10 mins it
came as
no surprise that they took the lead, a good ball from Jason
White found
captain Ethan Noble and from 10yds gave the keeper no
chance with a
crisp shot into the corner of the net to make it 1-0 to the
Whites,
soon it was 2-0, a 30yd run from midfielder Jason White
ended with him
slotting the ball home. It was all Whites now playing good
football
with smart passing movements, 15 mins before the interval a
Ethan Noble
shot could only be parried out by the keeper it fell to
Matthew Wilson,
whose sweet half volley gave the keeper no chance and made it
3-0. Bang
on half time Lions got a penalty the Lions striker beat keeper
Thomas
Robinson from 12yds to make the interval score 3-1 in
favour of the
Whites. The first 10 mins after the interval the Lions had
most of the
ball but could not break down the Whites defence. Then came
the goal of
the match, after the keeper had cleared the ball into the
Whites half,
Jason White looked up spotted the keeper off his line
and from his own
half hit the ball over the keeper head into the empty net to
make it 4-
1. The next 15 mins Whites had a bad spell which let the Lions
back
into the game, first a mistake between Joe Fraser and
Conner Ashworth
let in the Lions forward to score from 6 yds, then two mins
later
Conner Ashworth got caught in possession, the Lions
striker ran on to
make it 4-3. With Lions on top now they were pushing for their
fourth
goal, the Whites keeper Thomas Robinson then made a
match changing save
with his knees when the Lions striker had burst through the
Whites
defence, from then on the match went in the Whites favour
soon, it was
5-3 a good ball from Kai Hadley to Arley Byrne
and his left foot shot
from the edge of the area went in off the post, just before
the end a
great piece of skill from James Kelly who controlled
the ball and
flicked over the defender all in one movement found Ethan
Noble who
then buried the ball in to the far corner of the net to make
the final
score 6-3 to the Whites. Outstanding for the Whites were
Ethan Noble,
Matthew Wilson and Kai Hadley the latter two
feeling the effects of
illness. This was once again a good all round team
performance, also
with good constructive comments from the parents on the side
lines

HONOURS EVEN IN TIGHT GAME
Warley Whites U14s entertained Upperthong U14s at home last
Sunday.
With both teams in the top half of the division one table, it
was
always going to be a close game, as it proved. The game ended
all
square at 2-2 even though Whites could have won it in the last
miniute
with a Thomas Robinson shot that hit the crossbar.
Whites started
strongly dominating the first twenty minutes and going close
with shots
from Kai Hadley and Ethan Noble. On twenty two
mins a cross from Ethan
Noble found Jason White whose unstoppable shot gave
the keeper no
chance. This put the Whites 1-0 up and was Jason White's
93rd goal for the
club. Within two mins Upperthong were on level terms, a
powerful header
coming from a corner. After that Whites went up field and from
a free-
kick just outside the penalty area, that man Jason White
lobbed the
keeper for his 94th goal for the club and put the Whites 2-1
up. Bang
on half-time Whites defender Brandon Gilling got caught
in possession
with the ball and the Upperthong striker fired home from the
edge of
the box to level the scores at the interval 2-2. The
second-half both
teams were cancelling each other out with both teams having
chances to
win it. Players standing out for the Whites were James
Kelly, Jason
White and keeper Conner Ashworth who made some
quality saves.

Kellingley Wellfare U14s K.O. 13-00
WARLEY WHITES U14s 3 vs
KELLINGLEY WELFARE U14s 1 ( A.E.T. )
WHITES BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON TOO STRONG
FOR BRAVE KELLINGLEY
Warley Whites U14s had Kellingley Welfare U14s as their
visitors in
round two of the West Riding County Junior Trophy last
Sunday,.
Kellingley, who had scored 14 goals in their first round tie,
came full
of confidence against a Whites side who are just finding their
form.
After missing for the last three games due to swimming events,
keeper
Josh Berry, who was swimming again at Middlesborough
that morning, made
the journey back just in time for the kick-off [ NO DIG
INTENDED ],
also Whites subs Kai Hadley and Matthew Scholefield
were both not 100%
fit, as was Jason White who was in the starting eleven.
The game
started at a fast pace with Whites taking the game to
Kellingley. Both
Whites full backs Ashley Drake and Matthew Wilson
were getting forward
at every opportunity, with midfielders Sam Hiley and
Jason White
supporting the forwards, but they found the Kellingley defence
tough
nuts to crack. Whites had their chances through Jason White,
Ethan
Noble and Thomas Robinson all going close, but
Kellingley held firm.
When they did break into the Whites half they found Brandon
Gilling
and Conner Ashworth in superb form, so it was no
surprise both teams
were level at the interval 0-0. After an excellent first half
of
football from both teams you began to wonder if Whites would
regret
their missed chances because you knew Kellingley would have
their spell
in the second half. The same pattern started to develop again
with
Whites creating the better chances. Then on 55 mins, after
good play
from Sam Hiley who found Ethan Noble on the
right, his cross was only
cleared to Whites Jason White whose 30 yd shot found
the back of the
net to put the Whites 1-0 up. That goal seemed to wake
Kellingley up
and they started to pin Whites back, only some last ditch
tackling from
the Whites defence saved them from conceding. Then Kellingley
got the
break, with ten minutes left, a ball down the middle caught
the Whites
defence flat footed and the striker raced on to steer the ball
past the
advancing keeper to level the scores 1-1. It now looked as if
Kellingley
were going to get the winner, but back came Whites. In the
last five
mins they had two glorious chances to win the game, headers
from James
Kelly and Arley Byrne just cleared the crossbar.
The game ending 1-
1 meant 20 mins extra time. In the first period of extra
time
Whites got the important goal. After pressure down the right
Ethan
Noble broke into the box and his left foot shot into the
far corner of
the net put the Whites 2-1 up. Kellingley refused to lie down
and
created a couple of chances of their own, but Whites got the
killer
goal in the second period, a through ball from Jason White
found Ethan
Noble whose right foot thunderbolt gave the keeper no
chance and make
the final score 3-1. This put the Whites into the third round
draw. This
was by far the best performance of the season by the Whites,
and also
Kellingley Welfare must be applauded in their defensive and
attacking
qualities in an excellent game of football by both teams well
controlled by the referee. Outstanding for the Whites was
Brandon
Gilling and never say die attitude Sam Hiley in
what was an impressive
performance by every team player.

WHITES TOO STRONG FOR PENISTONE
In the first round of this years Huddersfield League Cup,
Warley
Whites U14s, last years beaten finalists, travelled to play
third
division Penistone U14s. Whites welcomed back there
goalkeeping coach
Paul [ Lord Lucan ] Drake, Whites started the game with
just eleven
players, Thomas Robinson was unavailable and Joe
Fraser was still out
injured. To be fair to Penistone, who never gave up, this was
a one sided
game for the Whites. The game started with the Whites
attacking down
both flanks with Ethan Noble and James Kelly and
controling midfield
with Kai Hadley and Matthew Scholefield, with
Penistone defending in
numbers. On fifteen miniutes, after constant pressure, a move
involving
Brandon Gilling, Matthew Wilson and Kai
Hadley who in turn found Jason
White and he gave the keeper no chance with a shot into
the bottom
corner of the net to put the Whites 1-0 up. Whites were
playing good
football now, soon it was 2-0, a beautiful pass from
Matthew
Scholefield with the outside of his right foot found
Matthew Wilson, he
laid a short ball to Kai Hadley whose 20yd shot found
the back of the
net. Two minutes before the interval an Ethan Noble
corner found the
head of Matthew Scholefield whose powerful header beat
the keeper at
the far post to make the half time score 3-0 to the Whites.
The only
surprise of the second half was Whites only added two more
goals to
their total both coming again from Ethan Noble corners,
first Arley
Byrne rose to plant a firm header into the roof of the
net, then his
second goal, he was completely unmarked to side foot the ball
home for
his second goal of the game. Near the end he had a great
chance to
claim his hat trick from an Ashley Drake cross but
mistimed his header.
He turned to the Whites supporters with two fingers raised [
just to
remind us how many goals he had scored ], the final score 5-0
to the
Whites. Impressive for the Whites were Ashley Drake,
Matthew Wilson,
Matthew Scholefield, Kai Hadley and Arley
Byrne with consistant
performances from the rest of the team.

WARLEY WHITES U14s 3 vs
WESTEND U14s 2
SECOND HALF COME BACK, SECURES THREE POINTS FOR WHITES
Warley Whites U14s produced their best performance of the
season to
beat a skilful Westend U14s 3-2 at home last Sunday in the
R.C.D.
Huddersfield Division One League game. The weather was a
factor with
wind and rain making play difficult in periods, but credit to
both
teams they played some attractive football. Joe Fraser
was back after
injury so he started on the bench, but Matthew Scholefield
was out
ill.
Straight from the kick off Whites took the game to Westend
attacking
down both flanks, Kai Hadley was working hard in
midfield with good
support from Thomas Robinson and Jason White,
also both full backs
Ashley Drake and Matthew WIlson were getting
forward with good runs.
After ten minutes Thomas Robinson broke through and
chipped the
keeper, but the shot hit the crossbar and bounced to safety.
When Westend
got the ball they looked dangerous and a yard quicker in
thinking
when they were on the attack, they started to put the Whites
on the back
foot and it came as no surprise when they took the lead. A
panic
stricken clearance from the Whites defence fell short and from
a two
yard pass from his team mate the Westend winger made no
mistake from
six yards to make it 0-1. Westend had Whites under more
pressure
now but the back four of Ashley Drake, Conner Ashworth,
Matthew Wilson
and the outstanding Brandon Gilling with keeper Josh
Berry looked solid.
It has to be said that when Whites were on the offensive the
Westend defence
also looked solid too. Ten minutes before the interval a poor
clearance from the Whites defence fell to a Westend forward
and he made no
mistake from the edge of the area to make the interval score
0-2 in
Westend favour. The second half started with Westend on the
attack,
and after a couple of minutes of play came a decision from the
referee
which from Westend point of view most probable cost them the
match. A
Westend forward got through the Whites defence but was pulled
back,
instead of playing advantage the referee blew for a direct
free kick,
but the ball had carried on and Westend had the ball in the
back of
the net only for the referee to disallow the goal. From the
resulting
free kick Whites keeper Josh Berry pulled off an
outstanding full
length save. The tide started to turn now with Whites pinning
Westend back.
From a Kai Hadley through ball, Matthew Wilson
got on to the end of
it to chip the ball over the advancing Westend keeper and into
the empty
net to make the score 1-2. It was all Whites now playing good
passing
football with good movement off the ball, and from a Thomas
Robinson
corner, Ethan Noble sent in a bullet of an header to
level the scores
at 2-2 with eleven minutes left. Then, with five miniutes to
go ,
Whites got the winner, Westend had difficulty in clearing the
ball and from
the edge of the box Thomas Robinson let rip with a left
foot shot
which found the bottom corner of the Westend net to make the
final score in
Whites favour 3-2. Westend will point to the referee's
decision which
was the turning point for them, 0-3 down would have been a
tall order
for the Whites, but that s life. Take nothing away from the
Whites
overall they deserved this victory with good football in bad
conditions and a brilliant all round team effort. Outstanding
for Whites were
Brandon Gilling and Thomas Robinson with
impressive performances from
Kai Hadley, Ethan Noble and Joe Fraser.

WHITES UNLUCKY NOT TO GET ANYTHING FROM THIS GAME
Warley Whites U14s travelled to Howden Clough U14s last sunday
for a
game in the division one of the R.C.D. league. Whites started
strongly
and could have been two goals up in the first five minutes,
but to
their cost Whites found themselves two goals down again due to
defensive mistakes. Whites managed to get a goal back just
before the
interval, Ethan Noble, after receiving a pass from
fullback Ashley Drake,
ran from the half way line, beat two Howden Clough defenders
to coolly
slot the ball home to make the half time score 1-2 in Howden
Clough
favour. After having most of the play in the first half,
Whites began
to dominate the second half, then, like in the previous game
for the
Whites where the referee's decision went in their favour, this
one did
not, the referee disallowing a Whites goal from a corner kick
for
offside even though there were two defenders stood on the goal
line.
With five mins left Whites midfielder Jason White burst
through to lob
the keeper to make it 2-2, which seemed to have got Whites the
point,
but straight from the kick off Howden Clough went straight up
field to
get the winning goal bang on the final whistle to make it 2-3.

MISSED CHANCES & MISTAKES PROVE COSTLY FOR WHITES
In the third round of the W.R.C.F.A. junior Trophy Warley
Whites U14s
entertained Yorkshire Amateur Colts U14s, but this was a game
where
Whites under performed with missed chances and mistakes
proving costly.
Whites started brightly taking the game to Colts, and on 15
mins Whites
took the lead when a free kick from Brandon Gilling
from deep in his own half
found the head of Ethan Noble who flicked on for
Jason White who ran on
to bury his low shot in to the bottom corner of the net to put
the
Whites 1-0 up. Within 10 mins Colts were level, Jason White
lost
possession in midfield and a ball over the top of the defence
let the
Colts striker run on to it and he made no mistake from
12 yards to
level the scores. Just before half time Whites had a chance to
go in
front with a superb cross from Matthew Wilson into the
area, but Arley Byrne
and James Kelly were both inches away from the ball.
After the interval
Colts came into the game, keeper Josh Berry coming off
his line a
couple of times to save at the feet of the Colts strikers.
Within five
mins Colts went in front, Whites defence had numerous chances
to clear
but paid the penalty when a cross came back in and it took a
deflection
to beat keeper Josh Berry at the near post. It was all
Whites now
pushing for that goal to bring them level but still missing
chances,
with 5 mins to go, a through ball from James Kelly
found Jason White
who hammered the ball past the Colts keeper to make it 2-2,
which was
the final score. So in to 30 mins of extra time, same pattern
Whites on
top but missing chances but also had to be tight at the back
in case
Colts broke with there quick strikers. Matthew Wilson
had a chance in
the last min of E.T. but he shot wide of the goal. So, on to
penalties,[
we lost 5-6 ] To sum up the game the lads gave it everything
today, it
was a below par performance, but still had enough to have won
the game.
Missed chances and mistakes proved costly. Good luck to
Yorkshire
Amateur Colts [who never gave up], in the next round.
Impressive for
the Whites were Kai Hadley, Josh Berry, Ashley Drake
and Brandon
Gilling.

WHITES TOO STRONG FOR BATTYEFORD
Last Sunday Warley Whites U14s entertained Battyeford U14s in
a R.C.D.
division one game, a win would push the Whites up into the top
half of
the league, which they duly obliged winning 5-0. The Whites
started
strongly taking the game to Battyeford. Whites keeper Josh
Berry was
virtually a spectator, after 10 mins Ethan Noble put
Whites in front with
a low shot. 5 mins later a corner from Matthew Wilson
found the head of
Ethan Noble whose bullet header gave the Battyeford
keeper no chance
and made the score 2-0 to the Whites. Five mins before the
interval
Thomas Robinson made it 3-0 to the Whites with an
excellent shot. After
the interval the pattern was the same, defence solid with
Kai Hadley
outstanding. Up front Arley Byrne was holding the ball
up well and then
laying it off for his on coming midfield players. Soon they
were 4-0
up, Jason White converting a penalty after he had been
brought down.
Then near the end Jason White got his second with a
simple tap in to
make the final score 5-0 to the Whites. Outstanding for the
Whites was
Kai Hadley with his ability on the ball and his reading
of the game,.
Also impressive through out the game were Arley Byrne
for holding up
the ball and then bringing team mates into the game,
Matthew Wilson for
his accurate corners and crosses into the box. The only
downside to the
game was a MAD 10 minute spell for both sides in which one
player was
dismissed and four players cautioned.

JASON WHITE"S THUNDERBOLT SEALS WIN
Warley Whites U14s were away to their local rivals Elland U14s
today
in the R.C.D. division one game at Hullen Edge Rec and came
away with a
hard fought win, 4-3 the scoreline. Both sides seemed to
struggle to get
the upper hand, a lot of the players minds else where [ on
their new
toys what santa had brought them on Xmas day ]. A draw would
have been
a fair result as Elland had led in the match three times.
Elland went
in front on ten mins Jake Bradbury out wide beat Whites
keeper Josh
Berry at the near post who should have had it covered.
With a powerful
shot, five mins later Whites were level, a brilliant piece of
passing
movements from there own half involving Conner Ashworth,
Jason White,
Arley Byrne and Sam Hiley ending in goalscorer
Matthew Wilson chipping
the keeper to make the score 1-1. Back came Elland from a
resulting
throw in, the ball was half cleared, the ball came back into
the six yd
box from Thomas Chappell, keeper Josh Berry
caught the ball but stepped
back over the goal line with the ball. The referee, who had a
very good
game was on the edge of the box looked directly at his
assistant
referee Mr Paul [HONEST] Drake who signalled the goal.
Within five mins
Whites were back level, Jason White out wide crossed
and Thomas
Robinson was on hand to glance a header past the Elland
keeper to make
it 2-2. The goals were not finished yet in this half, Elland
again took
the lead through a blistering 25 yd shot from Thomas
Chappell which
gave the keeper no chance, then a couple of mins before half
time,
Jason White levelled for the Whites with a low shot
into the corner of
the goal to make the interval score 3-3. The second half was a
different pattern with both defences tightening up, but the
game was
won with a wonderful 30yd strike from midfielder Jason
White which gave
the keeper no chance, Elland had a few chances towards the end
but with
Matthew Scholefield and Conner Ashworth standing
out in the Whites
defence got no reward for their effort, the Whites sealing a
4-3 win to
gain a valuable three points. Impressive for the Whites was
Jason White
who scored two and had a part in the other two goals,
Matthew
Scholefield and Conner Ashworth had very good
games. The pleasing part
from the coaches point of view was we had a full squad for the
first
time since the early part of the season WELL DONE BOYS.

that win put
the Whites up to fourth in the table. Whites were 3-0 at half

goals from James Kelly [two] and one from Jason
White, it was virtually
one way traffic with Whites having time on the ball to pick
their
players out with there passing. The second half was no
different, Lions
battling bravely but Whites were on top. Another goal from
Jason White with others from Thomas Robinson,
Arley Byrne and Joe Fraser getting his first goal

WHITES SCRAPE THROUGH, AGAINST UNLUCKY DALTON
Warley Whites U14s were at home to Dalton Dynamos U14s last
Sunday in
the second round of the R.C.D. Huddersfield League Cup, and
last years
beaten finalists scraped through to the third round with a 4-3
victory.
Dalton could count themselves unlucky, as they played there
part in an
entertaining cup tie. Whites went 1-0 up, in the very first
minute, a cross
in from the right was only cleared to the edge of the box and
James
Kelly was on hand to hammer the ball into the roof of the
Dynamos net.
For most of the half Whites created most of the chances, but
the Dalton
defence was solid. Dalton also looked dangerous on the break,
but
equally the Whites defence was in outstanding form. Just
before half
time a long ball forward from the Dalton defence caught out
Whites
keeper Josh Berry who misjudged the bounce and Dalton
striker Israel
Johnson was on hand to tap the ball home to level the
scores 1-1 at the
interval. Within five minutes of the restart Jermaine
Thomas, with a low
shot into the corner of the goal, put Dalton 1-2 up. Five mins
later a
fine shot from Jason White, the Dalton keeper could not
hold the ball
and Sam Hiley was following up to tap the ball home to
level the scores
2-2. It was end to end now, Ryan Hall then put Dalton
back in front 2-3
with a fine shot. Back came Whites and a blistering shot from
Jason
White levelled the scores 3-3 again. Then with seven
minutes remaining
a fine move involving Ashley Drake and Conner
Ashworth led to Jason
White firing home the winning goal for the Whites to make
the final
score 4-3. They will meet Lepton Highlanders away in the third
round. Outstanding for the Whites were Ashley Drake,
Conner Ashworth,
Joe Fraser and Matthew Scholefield, while for
Dalton Dynamos defender
Marcus Bray was outstanding.

HOWDEN CLOUGH U14s
WHITES AT THEIR BEST IN REVENGE WIN
Warley Whites U14s had an outstanding win 5-1 last Sunday at
home
against their arch rivals Howden Clough U14s. Whites had lost
narrowly
early in the season to Clough, so all the boys were up for the
return
fixture which was to be their best performance of the season.
Whites
started with just a squad of eleven players, and with the wind
behind
them took the game to Clough. Clough are well known for
playing the
offside trap, but on ten minutes a good one two between Joe
Fraser and
Jason White on the half way line ended with Joe
Fraser getting in
behind the Clough defence, drawing the keeper and lifting the
ball over
him to put the Whites 1-0 up. Whites were attacking at every
opportunity now and it was no surprise when Clough"s keeper
failed to
clear the ball properly. It fell to Matthew Wilson who
made no mistake
from 20yds to make the score 2-0 to the Whites. With Whites
defence also playing the offside trap Clough were getting
caught offside
regularly. When they did get through they found keeper Josh
Berry in very
good form, making a couple of tremendous saves. Just before
the
interval, Ethan Noble made a break down the right, he
crossed the ball
into the penalty area and there was Arley Byrne to chip
the ball into
the top corner of the net to make the half time score 3-0.
After the
interval Clough had the wind behind them, and they started
strongly
attacking down both wings but they were getting no change from
the back
five of the Whites defence. Clough needed to score the next
goal to get
back in to the game, but the next goal went to the Whites, a
brilliant
lob over the Clough keeper from Jason White to make it
4-0. Then Clough
had a chance to get back into the game, Whites keeper Josh
Berry
bringing down a Clough forward in the penalty area, but from
the
resulting kick he pulled off a superb save down to his left
hand post,
Clough were just getting a bit more ball now, and from a free
kick on
the half way line a ball over the top evaded the Whites
defence and the
Clough striker made no mistake from eight yards to make it
4-1. Whites
then upped their game to finish the match strongly dominating
the last
15 mins. With ten mins left another Whites ball over the top
of the
Clough defence, the Clough defence stood appealing for offside
against
Arley Byrne, but he was not interfering with play as he
was walking
back to his own half. With Ethan Noble making a burst
from his own half
the referee played on and Ethan Noble did the rest with
a fine finish
to make the final score 5-1 to the Whites which they deserved
for a
brilliant all round team performance. To single out any
individual
performance would be unjust as everyone of the boys deserved a
pat on
the back for an excellent performance

SILKSTONE U14s 3 vs 2 WARLEY WHITES U14s
WHITES EDGED OUT IN THRILLER
Warley Whites U14s travelled to league leaders Silkstone U14s
and were
unlucky to come away with a 3-2 defeat. Twice Whites were in
front in
the game but could not hold on to the lead, Whites played some
of their
best football of the season in the first half, taking the game
to
Silkstone at every opportunity, but Silkstone showed why they
are top
of the table with their never say die attitude for all of the
game, and this
is where the Whites lost the game taking their foot of the gas
for a
ten minute period in the second half, that is when Silkstone
scored two
goals. Whites started the game with new signing from Elland,
Ellis St
Hillaire making his debut up front, and what a game he
had, his non stop
running at the Silkstone defence causing all sort of problems,
and
after fifteen minutes with Whites being on top, a slide rule
pass from
Jason White found Ellis St Hillaire who
outstripped the defence to bury
his shot past the keeper to make it 1-0 to the Whites. Things
were
looking good for the Whites who were still on top, when
Silkstone did
threaten they found defender Kai Hadley and keeper
Josh Berry in top
form. On twenty minutes Silkstone got a corner and from the
resulting
corner kick to the near post Whites fullback Ashley Drake
was slow to
react and the Silkstone striker got in first to prod the ball
home to
level the scores 1-1. The home team was coming more into the
game now,
from a resulting move by Silkstone, Whites full back Ashley
Drake made
up for his early mistake by clearing off the line with keeper
Josh
Berry beaten. On twenty five minutes Whites were awarded a
direct free
kick just outside the Silkstone penalty area, and from twenty
five
yards Jason White made no mistake to give the Whites a
2-1 lead. then
just before the interval, Ethan Noble had a chance to
put Whites
further ahead but he dragged his shot wide of the target.
After the
interval both sides were creating chances, Whites going close
with an
Ethan Noble shot, while at the other end Whites full
back Ashley Drake
again clearing off the goal line from a Silkstone attack, but
you could
see Silkstone coming into the game more now, then Whites had a
bad ten
minute spell when they took their foot off the gas, by
conceding two
goals. First the Silkstone winger skipped through two tackles
to cross
the ball into the penalty area, keeper Josh Berry could
only parry the
ball to the striker who turned to hammer the ball home to
level the
scores 2-2, soon it was 3-2 to Silkstone after a goal mouth
scramble in
which they forced the ball home, both teams had further
chances to
score, Ellis St Hillaire for the Whites going close,
but the score
stayed the same to the end in what was a very entertaining
match by
two good sides. Outstanding for the Whites on his debut was
Ellis St
Hillaire whose work rate and direct running at the
Silkstone defence
was excellent, also impressive were defender Kai Hadley,
keeper Josh
Berry and midfielder Ethan Noble, overall a very
good performance but
we know we lost the game in that ten minute spell.

WHITES DOMINATE AGAINST LEADERS, BUT FAIL TO TAKE CHANCES
Warley Whites U14s welcomed league leaders Silkstone U14s in
the
return fixture of the R.C.D. Huddersfield Junior League
Division One.
After narrowly losing 2-3 the week before at
Silksone. Whites dominated
the first half even though Silkstone looked dangerous on the
odd break.
Chances fell to Ellis St Hillaire, Ethan Noble,
Sam Hiley and Jason
White but they were saved or went wide. Then on one of
Silkstone breaks
Whites defence went to sleep and the visitors went ahead with
a well
struck shot to lead at the interval 0-1. After the interval
Whites
again were on top and were awarded a penalty after a shirt
pull on
Ellis St Hillaire, from the penalty kick the Silkstone
keeper pulled
off a tremendous save from Jason White. On twenty mins
Whites were down
to ten men, but they still piled forward, with fifteen minutes
left
they got a direct free kick 25 yds out, Kai Hadley made
no mistake with
a brilliant curling shot around the wall to level the scores
1-1, and
that was the final score in a game Whites should have got all
three
points. Good games for the Whites were had by Kai Hadley,
Arley Byrne, James
Kelly and Ethan Noble.
LEPTON HIGHLANDERS U14s 3

MISSED CHANCES AND DEFENSIVE MISTAKES PROVE COSTLY AGAIN
Warley Whites U14s travelled to Lepton Highlanders U14s for a
R.C.D.
Huddersfield Junior League 3rd round Cup game, Whites again
started a
game strongly and on top for the first twenty minutes, with
chances
falling to Jason White, Ethan Noble, and
Ellis St Hillaire but they
could not convert any of them. Whites were then caught cold in
the
first half when the defence switched off and Lepton went in at
the
interval 0-2 up The second half was a similar pattern with
Whites
chasing the game. They left themselves open at the back, even
though
Lepton had more of the ball they could only manage one more
goal, that
was another moment when Whites switched off, and from a
corner. With
that goal to make the final score 0-3, Lepton progress to the
next
round. To be honest Lepton are a good side they kept
possession well and
by putting Whites under pressure waited for them to make
mistakes. From
the Whites point of view, making mistakes by trying to play
football is
not a problem no ones perfect, but switching off and not
looking
interested is no excuse considering its only 70 mins a week to
stay
focused. Impressive for the Whites was again Kai Hadley
who has been
solid at the back for the last few weeks, also keeper Josh
Berry,
Matthew Scholefield, and Ellis St Hillaire for
his 100% effort.
UPPERTHONG U14s 4 vs 5
WARLEY WHITES U14s
A GAME OF TWO HALVES
Warley Whites U14s were away to mid table Upperthong U14s in
the R.C.
D. Division One. Whites knew a win would push them up to
second place
in the table, but by half time with Upperthong leading 3-0 you
could
not see Whites getting a draw never mind a win. From the kick
off
Whites were slow out of the blocks, keeper Josh Berry
racing off his
line in the first five mins to block goal attempts from the
Upperthong
forwards, also defender Kai Hadley making some
important last ditch
tackles. Then after ten mins Whites defender Matthew Wilson
gave away
possession of the ball and Upperthong striker Bonn
Cunningham cut
through to fire the ball home. Upperthong were on top now,
Whites were
giving away the ball too often and being over run in midfield.
On
eighteen minutes Whites defender Conner Ashworth gave
the ball away
and from the resulting incident Upperthong broke down the
right with
Bonn Cunningham. He hit a shot which hit the crossbar
and bounced down
just over the line to make it 0-2 to Upperthong. Then just
before half
time a mix up between Josh Berry and Kai Hadley
on the edge of the
area, in which keeper Josh Berry was at fault, led to
Bonn Cunningham
tapping the ball home to claim his hat trick and put
Upperthong 3-0 at
the interval, The question was how many goals would Upperthong
get in
the second half. From the restart Whites were straight on the
attack,
within two minutes they had pulled a goal back. A long kick
from
keeper Josh Berry found Jason White whose
through ball found Ethan
Noble and from ten yards made no mistake with his shot in
to the corner
of the net. Soon it was 2-3. From a corner by Whites
Matthew Wilson,
Jason White headed towards the goal it hit fellow
striker James Kelly
who deflected into the net. This was a big turn round from the
first
half Whites were on top now, the defence looking more
composed, the
midfield with Thomas Robinson tackling anything what
moved, and Ellis
St Hillaire who had dropped back into midfield with
Jason White moving
up front was adding that extra bite Up front Jason White
was
leading by example in letting his football do the talking. On
twenty
two minutes Whites were level; a shot from Jason White
across the
penalty area found defender Conner Ashworth at the far
post to drive
the ball home. With ten minutes left and Upperthong heads down
Whites
were going all out for the winner. A long throw from Ellis
St Hillaire
found Jason White in the area who turned on a six pence
to drill the
ball home and make the score in Whites favour 4-3. But this
game was
not finished yet, with four mins left a rare Upperthong attack
down the
left ended with a cross into the Whites penalty area. The
first shot
on target keeper Josh Berry saved with his legs, then
defender Joe
Fraser cleared off the line from the resulting shot, but
Max Kaye was
on hand to force the ball home for Upperthong to make the
score 4-4.
The drama was not over yet, in the last minute from another
Whites
attack which came to nothing, the Upperthong keeper kicked the
ball out
of his hands it hit Sam Hiley who was 30 yds away on
his shin and with
the wind behind the ball took the ball into the far corner of
the net
to make the final score 5-4 to the Whites and a valuable three
points.
You have got to give all the lads credit for this fantastic
fight back,
but you have still to remember three of their goals were our
mistakes
like the previous two games in which we have conceded goals,
cut them
out life"s a bit more easy for you boys. All the boys deserve
a slap on
the back for this fight back, and a mention must go to Kai
Hadley who
dug in and led by example when we were under the cosh as he
has done
for the last three games, also team mate Jason White
who today in the
second half concentrated on his game, led from the front and
showed
what a good player he his by letting his football do the
talking.

HECKMONDWIKE U14s
SECOND HALF FIGHTBACK EARNS A POINT FOR WHITES
Warley Whites U14s were up against Heckmondwike U14s for the
first
time this season in the R.C.D. Hudderfield Junior League
Division One
game at Savile Park. After twenty minutes of the game with
Heckmondwike leading 3-0 you could see why they are in the
semi-final
of the League Cup, the final of the County Cup and favourites
for the
League Title with their passing and movement off the ball and
quick
counter attacks. Whites had to make changes quick, they
brought Ellis
St Hillaire out of the defence into midfield to add a bit
of bite, and
they were rewarded just before the interval with a fine
individual goal
from Jason White who cut in from the left, beat two
defenders before
firing the ball home to make it 1-3 at half time. The second
half
started with Whites on the attack, but Heckmondwike still
looked
dangerous on the counter attack, but once again found Whites
defender
Kai Hadley in top form. Whites then had a good ten
minute spell which
seemed to panic the parents of the Heckmondwike team, that in
turn fed
through to the players which affected there performances,
that's when
Whites got back into the match. With seventeen minutes left
Thomas
Robinson got the ball on the edge of the area and hit a
superb looping
shot over the keeper to make it 2-3 GAME ON. With ten minutes
left,
Jason White who had led from the front for all the
match, broke through
into the penalty area where he was brought down and with the
referee
seven and half yards away pointed straight to the spot, where
Jason
White made no mistake to notch his second goal of the
game. There
were no further goals with both teams cancelling each other
out and
settling for a 3-3 draw. Again the lads have got to take
credit for the
second week running with another tremendous fight back.
Outstanding
again for the Whites were Kai Hadley and Jason White,
also impressive
were Arley Byrne, Thomas Robinson and Ethan
Noble.
DALTON DYNAMOS U14s 1 vs 6
WARLEY WHITES U14s
DALTON SWAMPED BY WHITES IN MUDBATH
Whites faced league strugglers Dalton Dynamos on a bitterly
cold sunday morning on a pitch that was heavy going and and
barely playable. From the outset Warley were up for the game
and with only eleven players available ( reminder to Connor,
set your alarm on match days!) they knew they had to settle
into the game as early as possible. After 2 minutes a ball
through from Jason White found Arley Byrne and
after rounding two players Arley struck a left footed
shot that left the keeper stranded but the shot skimmed the
outside of the post. Warley continued to push forward and
again went close when a Joe Frazer cross was met by
Arley Byrne whose header went over the bar. Again more
pressure from Warley was forcing Dalton deeper and with the
midfield of Matthew Scholefield and Jason White
winning most of the ball, it was only a matter of time before
the first goal came. After a build up of play between James
Kelly, Joe Frazer and Sam Hiley, Arley
Byrne played a ball forward to Jason White who met
the keeper on the edge of his 6 yard box and after both going
to ground the keeper spilled the ball and Jason stood
up and calmly slotted the ball home. 5 minutes later and a
Joe Fraser throw in saw James Kelly back header to
Jason White who turned in the area and from a tight
angle on the edge of the 18 yard box fired a shot off that
left the keeper stranded and went straight into the top
corner. Dalton struggled to get out of their own half and when
the midfield lost possession with the ball sticking in the
mud, Jason White lofted a ball wide to Ethan Noble
whose cross found Sam Hiley whose shot skimmed past the
keeper into the bottom corner. Dalton came out in the second
half and seemed to step it up a gear and Warley seemed to go
to sleep with Israel Johnson from Dalton making most of
the running and forcing keeper Josh Berry into making
some good saves but you could sense that another goal was
coming. But with Dalton chasing the game they were leaving
themselves exposed and after Ethan Noble was moving
from his usual wide right position to centre forward, he made
a run and a latched onto a ball from Sam Hiley and with
a hard and low shot the keeper dived but the ball went under
his body and made it 4 - 0. With that Warley switched off and
after more attacking football from Dalton, keeper Josh
Berry ran off his line and cleared a shot from Johnson
but the ball rebounded to a Dalton player who shot and Kai
Hadley sprinted back and cleared from the line. Again
Dalton got possession and with keeper Berry still
running back Hadley again cleared off the line. Dalton
shot again and Berry then made a great save and tipped
the ball round the post. From the resulting corner some
scrappy play saw Dalton finally score and this lifted the
players. Warley seemed to sense that Dalton were trying to get
back into the game and with another attacking phase of play,
defender Connor Ashworth found himself in a wide right
position deep in Dalton's half and after running on to
Ethan Noble's pass, he crossed the ball to James Kelly
who headed the ball over the Dalton defender, continued his
run and coolly slotted the ball home. Dalton never gave up but
with the pitch getting more cut up and boggy, it was difficult
for either team to play any quality football. Ethan Noble
then made a run from his own half after winning the ball in
midfield and continued to run deep into Dalton's half and
after losing possession fought to win the ball back and
crossed the ball to Jason White who made no mistake.
Full time Dalton 1 Warley 6
Good games for the Whites were James Kelly, Joe
Frazer, Kai Hadley, Josh Berry Arley
Byrne and Matthew Scholefield.
WEST END U14s 3 vs 0
WARLEY WHITES U14s
WEST END TOO STRONG FOR THE WHITES
A re arranged fixture saw the Whites travelling to last
seasons League champions West End mid week and with West End
chasing the title again this season we knew it was going to be
a difficult game, with blustery conditions and a heavy pitch,
West End started the game and stamped their authority straight
from kick off. With Jason White suspended and Ellis
St Hilaire injured, the Whites struggled to contain West
End with the main play coming from midfield. After 15 minutes
West End got their breakthrough when a ball over the midfield
found two players offside (a minor detail in football) and
this left keeper Josh Berry advancing on the West End
striker only for him to be side stepped by the West End player
to coolly slot home. The game carried on in the same vein for
the rest of the first half with West End playing the ball over
and again with three players in on offside position the Whites
found themselves on the wrong end of a decision and conceded
again.
The second half saw the Whites trying to string two passes
together and sometimes they managed to get out of their own
half only for West End to catch the Whites flat footed and
effectivly put the game out of reach for the them with a third
goal. With 15 minutes remaining the Whites decided to try play
and held West End in their own half but shots from distance
were never going to trouble the West End keeper. The dream
team were. Ima Coldenwet, Slim Chance, Enoch Ance, Bob Hope,
Eno Ope. Canna Gohome, Iwas Onmyown, A B Sent, I Slippednfell,
A Nonymous, Ed Inacloud and substitute Ida Dunnbetter.
